The artist that created this painting was Clara Samuels. The painting measures 32" by 55". The frame is made out of wood. The painting is in portrait orientation and is a oil on canvas. Clara Samuels was born in 1914 in Winnipeg. She studied mathematics and economics at the University of Manitoba. Clara used to work as a researcher at the Bank of Canada in Ottawa until she moved to Regina, Saskatchewan in 1939. In the 1950s, she took art classes at the University of Regina. In 1956, her art was presented in a group exhibition called "6th Biennial Exhibition of Canadian Painting" at the National Gallery Of Canada in Ottawa, Ontario. Her art was also represented in several public collections such as the Saskatchewan Arts Board, Massey College at the University of Toronto, Carleton University(Ottawa), Regina Public Library, and the Government of Saskatchewan. Her art is also in some private collections. Unfortunately, Clara Samuels passed away in 1988.
